Can you mix bronze and nickel?
Likewise, can you mix nickel and bronze?
Similarly-hued metals work well together. For example, nickels and chromes pair well. But so do very different metals, like polished nickel paired with bronze. In this instance, it's good to combine a light metal with a dark one.
Furthermore, can you mix oil rubbed bronze and polished nickel? Rather than polished nickel, satin chrome or stainless steel, using oil rubbed bronze fixtures either alone or mixed with other metal finishes allows you to create a layered, polished contrast to your rooms. Oil rubbed bronze is both current and classic. It's usually found in traditional and transitional decor.
In this manner, is it OK to mix hardware finishes?
DON'T mix too many finishes and styles in the same room. If the finishes are different then the styles should be mostly the same (or at least similar). The exception here is if you want to call out a single accent piece. DO pick two or three finishes and use them throughout the whole house.
Can you mix bronze and chrome fixtures?
You'll want to mix cool metals with warmer metals. Cool metals include chrome and nickel (and to a less extent – black). Warmer metals include brass, oil-rubbed bronze, gold and copper. For our bathroom, I chose to mix my dominant metal (polished chrome) with, you guessed it!, BRASS!
